iPod WITH MILK

I suppose its only logical that i took so long to say a proper farewell because obviously it was really hard letting u slip out of my grasp like that.

Thank you for the companionship during those long walks to/ fro/ work/ home/ Curve/ Ikea /One U/ everyfrigginwhere.

Thank you for keeping me entertained during those excruciating long rides on the bus to SEremban/ PJ / singapore / 12 hour flights...

Thank you for giving me a beat to groove to when i sweat it out on the treadmill.

Thank you for giving me a reason to wear white earphones in public and pretend that i'm listening to music when i'm actually not cuz i just wanna look like i'm doing something.

The sista was cursing me for letting her nice gift to me get stolen like that in Barcelona.
What to do. The Barcelionans just lurve the Asians too much not to let things not get stolen in front of our sepet eyes.

Oh well.
No use crying over spilt milk right?

Ya. i do that sometimes.
Makes my pc table look artsier.

Anyway.

This is my new iPod Nano.

No. It is not the new one with camera and radio and wider screen and polished ionized supercalifrigilisticly shiny surface.

Apple was kind enough to release their new baby 2 friggin weeks AFTER i got my Gen4 nano.
Thank you very much Apple. You the bestest in the whore wide wer.

Bestest.

Nonetheless, i am very happy with my Gen4.
No camera la but then again i already have a digicam for that.
No radio la but then again i can easily listen to stations online. (Plus when was the last time i actually listened to the radio?)
No shiny surface but eventually i'll be covering it up with those rubber protectors aka ipod condoms anyway.

So nevermind.
ya hear meh?
NEVERMIND.

....

WHAM!
*storms off tearfully and slams room door shut*

I GO MARATHON

Caught up with 4 kickass episodes of True Blood and 3 epis of Hung and i cannot get enough of em!

TrueBlood
Season Finale tmrw night. argh.

TruBlad is clearly becoming one of my all time favourite TV series now.
Right up there with Dexter.
And Season 1 of Desperate Housewives / Heroes.
Yes. SEASON 1 ONLY.

Meanwhile.
Am still not getting the leftover Paris photos from ze Frenchers.

Aih.

Attended the 8tv screening of The Ugly Truth in Cathay Cineleisure e@Curve tat day and found it surprisingly amusing.

I confess, when i got the passes I pre-judged it based on its poster and shoved it a lukewarm if-nothing-else-to-do-only-go-la response.

Lets see......
regularboldregular fonts. Check.
Clean white background. Check.
Bold colours (red) among less striking colours. Check.
Katherine Heigl. Check.
- all the makings of your everday chickflick i'd say.

But then the movie turned out funny so ok la i eat back my stereotypical judgments.

Went for a movie marathon right after my return to 1Malaysia to catch up abit on what i missed in 3 weeks.
It was a full day of back 2 back movie rushing and me liked it loads.

District 9 @ 11.20am
Dance Flick @ 1.45pm
Up @ 3.15pm

I had mouth-wateringly scrumptious individual Cathay regular set combo happy value meal for lunch (popcorn + coke) and i was running from hall to hall trying to catch up with the movie slots so adrenalin memang pumping kau kau after each movie. (had to exit. take a big walk out the cine. then go in again via ticket man at entrance)

My fave was Up.
District 9 was good.
But Up stole the marathon spotlight with the unexpected storyline and the super deep message behind the movie. Dance Flick is chewing gum so it's best to enjoy chewing and then spit after your done. But then again. I've always been a fan of the SCARY MOVIE franchise. Stupid i know. But me like.  XD

Marathons anyone?

SLEEPING WITH ZE FRENCH

From my trip to France (and Bar死lona) with the Frenchies, I feel like I have definitely exposed myself (in one way or another. o.O) to an experience i will cherish for life.

I feel enlightened and horizontally broadened (in one way or another. o.O) in ways only a 5 figure budget can buy. Literally.

Here are the life lessons 2 weeks with the gwailo's (cuz i'm home in Msia now. If i was typing this there. I'd probably say: "locals". or."residents". or "ze incompetounts".) have thought me:

1) ZE FRENCH LOVE TO DRIVE

Love to squeeze like sardine can in the car
then take photo and blast Lily Allen's F**k You on repeat. -_-

and yes. the top area of the car got window wan.
can open can close. damn fun.

2) ZE FRENCH ARE CHEESY.
AND PROUD OF IT.

i only tried afew types and already i think i've had enough to last me a lifetime.

3) ZE FRENCH LOVE ZE A-A-A-A-A-ALCOHOL

Which i obviously do not approve of.

4) ZE FRENCH LOVE THE SUN.

Until beach all become like shopping mall parking zone during weekend.

5) ZE FRENCH LIKE TO PLAY THE LOVE GAME.

tats why these "blue" things were so common there.

6) THEY LIKE TO FLY.

Especially with orange feathery butterfly wings that come served with ice cream as deco.

7) Ze FRENCH ARE BLADI POSERS

err. I was just giving them face so i also berpose.

8) ZE FRENCH HAVE EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD TIMING.

This pic is the exact moment reality hit me hard and made me realise i had lost my bag to the bottomfeeder scoundrels of Bar死lona.

Phil: jamee, whereh, eez your baaag?
Jaemy: hello, its right HE.... *long hard pause. stares at empty floor. bag gone. panic.

*SNAP* - photo taken.

Kinda freaky actually.

9) ZE FRENCH ARE SUPER CLINGY

I couldnt breathe lor.
Playa like me needs my space man.

9) ZE FRENCH HAVE AN ABUNDANCE OF PATIENCE.

judging from the queue at the police station.
And temaning the tediously mafan me all the way until we left.
Such nice people la they all.

Unfortunately.....

10) ZE FRENCH LOSE ALL SENSE OF DIGNITY WHEN DRUNK.

or maybe they just have no dignity in general.

I rest my case.

Kesimpulannya - the thieves are gonna burn in hell for stealing my travel bag.

EUROTRIP...kinda

Yes i have returned from my budget-burning adventures in the far faraway land called europe and i have grandfather stories to share.

Unfortunately, the most drama part of the trip is the same old cliche that you've seen/heard to death from your friend's friend's cousin's mother's friend's son's fish la.

Asian goes to Europe.
Asian is awed by everything in sight.
Asian ignores repeated warnings of evil things lurking around him.
Asian sits down to eat.
Asian gets bag stolen. Loses passport. Loses ipod. Loses money.
Loses a whole week's worth of 2G Paris photos.
Asian becomes illegal immigrant in foreign land.

Aih. Mafan sei.

It was a saturday when it happened and embassy only opened on monday so we had to drag another 2 more days in Barcelona till we got my passport done.

Whadidatellya? Cliche right?

Barcelona.
Not a place i'll be missing anytime soon.

Anyways this trip was considered pretty much out of ma comfort zone because i actually went there to see these 2 Frenchies i met a year ago when i was in Krabi with the Carin (when she was still unmarried and unmigrated) and the Adel (before she cut her hair and before she started announcing to every single soul around that i was a virgin in need of some desperate devirginising)

They were nice people.
But damnit, if i see another Baguette or another round of Cheese... so help me god immagonnabeatyoass and feed you 2 weeks worth of plainbread and processed dairy products. Word.

We did most of the traveling ala roadtrip style so we spend hours a day stuck in the car till our asses turned numb.

We started off at Paris. which i really really loved.
The 4 of us cramped in this hostel room at the outer parts of Paris so we had to take the subway alot to get around. Which was a headache. Cuz the subways are just different coloured lines that zigzag all over and eventually lead to dots that don't really connect.

But i just slumber la. Cuz i couldnt understand ANYTHING on the map.
Even the frenchers had trouble getting around so what more for me?
I left the headaching to them. Heh.

After Paris we drove through the Pyrenee and saw green green grass and white white cows with tall tall mountains all round. Me liked it alot and was oooing and aaaing the whole way. Was taking pics like crazy too but then all gone in the bag tat got stolen so. Oh well. Very Switzerland-ish. (Which was one of the locations i was suppose to go but embassy warned me not to cuz the swiss hated asians. Aih.)

Through the Pyrenee we arrived at the Château de Chambord which is actually an old castle. But it was late at night la so we couldnt see much. They put on light shows so that's wat we stayed around to watch.
But i must say that i have never in my life seen so many shooting stars in the night sky before.
Serious.
Literally every 5 minutes u can spot a star just zooming by with the lit up tail following behind.
If you blink u miss it.

Next on our list was the Great Dunes of Pyla.
But i was a little turned off by the hotness of the sun.
Felt too much like malaysia actually.
Nice view but bad beach.
Overcrowded and overtiring just to climb up the sandy hill.
The run down was fun though.

After that we drove to Saint Girons' Campeola - where i got to experience euro-style camping for the 1st time in my life. It was a commercialised camp site near the sea so trailers and tents where already made up around the park and the spaces were numbered like rooms. Once again, i took damn alot of nice pics la but it was not mine to keep.
Will bug the french for pics soon.

We arrived at Barcelona in the middle of the night of 14/8 / early morning on 15/8.
Then you know what happened la.
1st meal itself there i kena liao.
Lingered around for 4 days but seriously i couldnt stand the heat anymore so we barely enjoyed ourselves there.
It felt very much like France actually.
Only hotter.
Dirtier and more thief infested.

Call me biased la but Barcelona's image in my head will forever be tainted by the panic attack i felt when i realised i actually had my whole travel bag stolen from right beneath my nose. (well. side. underneath actually.)

After Bar死lona we made our way to this small town called (correct me if im wrong..) Bormes les Mimosas located on a hill along the way. Was a very nice town with small walkways between walkways and basically abit like how that MamaMia! town movie looked like.

We arrived at Nice LATE at night again and we cramped our asses in a their friend's house and sweated buckets during the night cuz, yet again, it was so bladi hot.
Summer sucks in southern france.
Dont go when it's summer.

They took us to Cannes (where Cannes film festivals are held.) and Monaco and this town called Ville Franche where i suspect i got most of my tann from. But once again, i just have to say that the beaches there really cannot fight with our local ones lor.
Really. Cannot. Fight.

So after those places we barely made it for my flight in Milan (yesh. all the way in Italy) and rushed my ass up the plane for my stopover at Manchester and London before flying back to Malaysia.

I barely made it cuz my flight was on final call when i realised there was some issue with my flight ticket to Manchester. Had to fork out extra 40 euros for some stupid stuff. RM200 penalty. urgh.

Manchester and London were awesome la to say the least.
Cold weather. Rained alot but i dun mind. :)
Was a pleasant change in climate. I embraced it.

Needless to say, i am pokai maximus and will now indulge in begger's bread and oat meals as sustenance for the next few millenias or so.

Yeah tats me is in a cemetery. In London.

More pics and stories to come.

Thank u Phil Thank u Emillie Thank u Sara.
谢谢VonsterTham. TrimaKarseh LiAnn.

I will remember this trip for life.
So expensive of course remember la.
Damn it.

1/2 BLOOD

I saw Harry Pot & the Half Blood Prince yesterday.

It was so-so only.
Everything seemed slow and choppy.

They didnt play to the whole half blood thing at all lor.
They didn't explain why Snape was the half blood prince.
They didnt say what Dumbledore saw when he was drinking the liquid.
The Avada Kedavra part seemed so slow and unkancheong-ish.
Not like how i imagined it when i was reading the book.

Oh well. What's new right?

A YASMIN POST

So Yasmin was in my office building the day she collapsed.

And moments after it happened the word of mouth snowballed faster than the speed of sound from top floor (where they were having the meeting) to our CSD people's super sampat ears and into our facebook statuses.

i heard it and i didn't believe. At first.
Looked like ppl purposely wanna cause commotion liddat.
But when the chitty chatty aunties started spilling the intricate details of how she collapsed in the middle of the presentation and the word "CPR" & "CONFIRMED DEAD" was thrown around. I had to listen in.

Needless to say. I succumbed to the bitterbanter of the gossip aunties *cough SEAN cough* and took into consideration that it was my responsibility as a genuine facebook user to announce her passing as blatantly loud as i possibly could to the world outside MediaPrima.

Only to realise i was already epicly late.

FB was friggin flooded i tell you. Floooded.
"RIP / CONFIRMED DEAD" updates all over.

Then came the crashing news that she really wasnt dead yet.
And then everyone started clearing the rumours. (sillyme included)

In my defense they said her heart actually stopped for awhile before they managed to revive her. That's why her brain hemorrhage was critical.
The heart stopped long enough to cause lethal lethal damage to the human noodle.
That's what they said la.

Thanks for the adrenalin rush Yasmin.
It was a Friday like no other.
I will now kick start my hunt for Gubra, Mukhsin & Muallaf now that your passing will most certainly have made these shows more easily accessible in the market.
Keeping fingers crossed.
Anyone got?

I liked Sepet.
Talentime was ok.
The Petronas ads were always appropriate ice-breaking topics during the festive seasons.
and for that i thank you.

Sorry MJ. Yasmin is the new spotlight.

Welcoming the WhiteBoi

I have a new brother.
He's white and he hails from the land of sausages and Hitler.

I wanna go "Achtung!" everytime i see him.
He's 17, single and ready to mingle yo.

Parents adopted him on a 1 year basis and will be returning him to his mother land once we get bored of his foreign face in the Choong household. Will exchange him for an iPhone probably.

So far its been good.
He talks. English.
So that's a good thing.
We don't have to rely on body language and hand signs to communicate (as i had been afraid of) and he already knows how to poke fun at my mata sepet and skin colour so thumbs up Mr.Jeske on picking up a sense of Asian humour.

I squeezed out watever ounce of basic 华语 i had left in my bananafied blood and briefed him on the super basics of 你好,谢谢 & 傻傻 (山,火 & 大 included) so he wont die of utter confusion and culture shock when he starts schooling in friggin cina ChanWa today.
I fear for his life honestly.

Spot the red headed angmoh.

Oh. and Shyng wants to give him a makeover if/when he visits KL. -__-

MJs, WEDDINGs & NEW NEIGHBOURs

it was MJ spam on FB when i got into the office on friday.

His record company must be in 7th heaven now holding hands skipping in circles while MJ himself looks on and shakes his head in his own lil limboland.

Wasn't really a fan though.
I mean i like his released singles.
But never listened to any of his albums in general.
I just remember that Thriller gave me nightmares as a child.

Mariah sang badly at the memorial and Brooke Shields earned brownie points for on screen sincerity.

Suddenly the whole worlds loves MJ again.
Suddenly the WackoJackoChildMolesterPlasticNoseExtraordinare lable is but a distant past. People are so fake.

Anyways, in the duration of my absense from blogging....

I witnessed 2 friends tie the knot.
(Not with each other.)

This is TV3 designer Ayu's wedding lunch

This is Hueyen's super prim and proper wedding.
U can so clearly see she didn't wanna lose face even for this shot.
Potong stim.

We also bid farewell to my dear roundchubby neighbour CarinWongSinYin as she slammed down the resignation letter on the bastard bosses of the company and walked away without turning back. Woots. That'll show em Car.

That's Carin with her new whipped creamy specs.

No la. Actually she got hitched and will be moving to the distant Salmony land of Norway to live out her happily ever afters with the gwailo husband that she met online in a chat room some 3 years ago.

Forgive me father for i have sinned with gluttonous dosages of envy and jealousy.
The world is unfair and i also wanna go overseas to live out watever happily crappy afters i can leech out of whoever who wants me. -____-

Photos of Carin's potluck farewell here.

So this used to be my next door neighbour.

And this is the replacement.

(The black one. Not Mr. 2D.)

I call him the dark corner.
For obvious reasons.

I wanted to extend to him my warmest welcome the other day.
So i took time away from my busy busy busy busy schedule to give his emptily bare new place a much needed makeover that would reflect his personality and style.

~
~
~
~

Voila.

I think it really compliments his appearance.
Don'tchu?

I left it on Friday before i left work.
He's so lucky to have me as a neighbour la.
