4 CHORDS TO RULE THE CHARTS (AND WORLD)

Started off as a night of street-prowling planning.
Ended off as a nonchalantly random room busk session which lasted for 3 whole hours.

tats ShoyBunneigh semangatly joting down the list of songs

My fore fingers hurt.
But nvm. its for a good cause.
the cause of cracking down the most-played most-used 4 chords of all time.

G | D | Em | C

Forgive my amateur music epiphany aftermath enthusiasm.
All y'all musically inclined geniuses have probably already realised this BeforeChrist-ages ago, i know. But its huge for me yo.
Imagine realising all the songs you used to sing through school and blast through your radio speakers and associate fond memories with suddenly smashed to smithereens...

because they ALL share the same. damn. basic. tune.

Apparently these are the 4 chords you will only ever need to learn to completely rule the musical entertainment charts and claim your recording deal and make impact on the world before u own it and digestively leech of any amount of profitable dough.

Ladies and gentlemen i present to you the complete (and still growing) list of 222 songs that the Bunneigh, the Pokes and the Owhy managed to fish out in my cozily cramp lil room.

LI ANN DOES THE WALK

Was at St Francis Xavier's church the other day to witness colleague Li Ann berid of her bachelorettehood in holy matrimony to Benji.

Was a tiring day indeed because a certain restaurant had misinformed us of a certain item that was supposedly purchasable as a gift and when we got there *cough* Tenji *cough* we were told to get lost.

A pretty demoralizing way to start the day if i do say so myself.

Ended up rush-scouting/purchasing another prezie and then realising that it was not obtainable that day, so we scribbled love letters and threw it into a nice packet and wrapped it up with all the TLC we could conjoure up for the day and presented it to the blushing couple as a face-saving gift. Phew.

black is back.

It was a simple wedding. Simple and nice.
Vows exchanged in the church.
Hi-tea in the garden.
Perfect the way it was.
but humid and sweated loads.
Extra flavouring to the food right.

yum.

perky pink and the black widow.
(Swen's cat died so she decided to honour her pussy by drenching herself in the colour of her pubes)

couple and perkypinky.

us wishing them all the best

Also.

I am officially jamdicted.
did this for July's jamlist.

KaPow!

UNLEASH MY TERROR

Post holiday depression at full swing today.
I slipped in as seeminglessly silent as i could and left as swiftly and soundless as my stomplet soles could sway me.

Walau.

i wanted to jump off the window by lunch time.
If i had a window near my desk i mean.

Bosses had nicely cramped in 2 more new "workmates" in the already cramped up windowless place i spend my 9 - 9 in.
If claustrophobia pushes me over the edge i'm telling you i'm gonna bloody parang the whole office.
No survivors man.
and i'll flash my standard pearly white pose while at it.
I bet you'd like tat wudntcha?

Dun be surprised if i strut in the office armed with AK-47 infused with atomic flameable grenades built with shards of my bitten nail bits this week.

Dun be all wussy and wide-eyed when i deploy mutated Gar zombies upon all your roboticly fake worksmiles and pretentious voice tones.

Dun act all rational and anxious when the clawing of ur skin and the gnawing of ur nipples get too unbearable for your thick SK2-ed skins to handle. Your screams are merely nags of nothings to my numb ear.

Dun be all concerned and caring when my farts and armpits are jammed against that thing u call a face.

Heard it all befo' yo. Heard it all befo.

Bloodbath on pending.
Ammo on recharge.
Lock and load on demand.

AH. i feel better.

Decided to myspace MARINA AND THE DIAMONDS cuz i was reading JUICE the other day and there was a featured article on her. One of those 2 paragraph articles. Nothing major. Was quite a miracle that my eye actually caught it.

and wow looks like i have another artist to lookout for.
She's pretty good. Catchy stuff. Quirky nice vids to add to it too.

Click. See. Hear.

Leotards are so yesterday.
Foldable origami limbs are the new Single Ladies.

i blast her in my earphones when ppl come into office now.
so i dun need to look at their faces.

Thank you Marina.
This diamond appreciates it.

MOUNT ORGY

Nice.

Catchy new Kylie song. Awesome vid. i like.
You could practically sing Bleeding Love & I Gotta Feeling over it though.

Sigh.

JAMMING UNCLES

I like jams.

They go well with bread, butter, toast, angst, pent up workstress and a desperate need to bang something.

They also make uncles look a whole lot younger and yauyeng-er.

And they train up your multitasking skills.
(left) uncle play drums and sing at the same time. Dun playplay.

As usual, i am nowhere to be seen because i am the camera holder.
Camera holders arenotqualified / dontdeserve / looktoofugly to be in photos.

The other day i had a conversation with a friend that went something along the lines of:

friend: so who u going jamming with tonight?
me: oh with this group of old uncles la.
friend: oh how old?
me: erm... 30's.
friend: tats not very old. you're already 25.
me: ...............(long pending pause)....................shit. you're right.

And as simple and as instant as that, it dawned upon me...
no wait... more of a lightning jolt than a briskful dawn...
like a meteor had crashed on me and had suddenly shook the very foundation of my puny existence to the core... it suddenly hit me that i will be joining the golden ranks of the "uncle" category very soon.

Argh.

Cold sweat drips down my forehead amidst my realization that age is catching up with me.
I can only shrug and curse.

The OTHER other day i took a free bone endurance test in 1u organised by Anlene.
And just by chance take a guess what the end results were?
I was placed in the "risky" zone.
Yea.
The yellow zone next to the red zone where octogenarians and osteoporosis proners lurk.
The section reserved mainly for citizens of a rather more senior standing in society.
So there you have it. I'm officially a fragile-boned human. A slight touch and you could dislocate my wimpy shoulder. A soft push and you could shatter my rib cage. A gentle tug and you could snap my neck instantly.
That's what the results say. I dunno.
I run i walk i sweat i move and stay mobile alot. I dont get it.
The ignorant way of thinking would be that I was a victim of a tired examiner dozzingoff on duty during the roadshow or maybe a malfunction of machinery at the presence of my overzealous nerves during the test. Either way, i am not completely convinced that my abled body is that unable.
I'm not!

Aiyo. You see la.
I wanted to write about my cool new uncle band but i ended up feeling depressed about my age and deteriorating body.

How uncle of me.

MY TOP 10 TRACKS OF 2009

And so i carry forth my yearly tradition of dissing out my closetted (or not) playlist repeats of the year.

Yes.

These are the tracks that accompanied me as i brisked pass the compounds of 1U from office to home. The tunes that kept my ears occupied on those lonely bus rides from Pasar Seni to Seremban. The numbers that i sangalong to alot and probably googled the guitar chords one time or another just so i can berkaraoke within the confinements of my room.

Behold my shameless parade of overplayed overbubblegummed overpopped songs that dominated my head when it was not filled with the crap i call work and the genius i call Street Fighter 4.

There. My personal top 10 list of guilty pleasure syok sendiri music.
And yes. Halo is indeed my song-that-you-cant-get-sien-of for 2009.

oh and thank god i didnt buy tickets to her never-gonna-happen concert.
Sai qin sai hei
only.

Katy Perry's Thinking of You deserves a thumbs up mention.
But because her album was in 2008 i figured i duwan so outdate la.
Still... tats a killer song.

I'd have to say that my favourite album of 2009 would have to be a juggle between John Mayer's BattleStudies, Colbie Caillat's Breakthrough and LaRoux's LaRoux.
Simply because these albums didnt bore me.

I listened to Mayer and Caillat when i was moody (which was a pretty hefty amount this year) and LaRoux when i ...err... wasn't.

Other mentionables for me include ZeeAvi's, Lady Gaga's Fame/Fame Monster (cuz she had damn alot of catchy songs in em) and the Glee Season 1 OST.

Would like to thank the TsuTsu for recommending LaRoux and Muse.

Would like to say 谢谢 to Raymond for sending me Bebo Norman.

Would like to give new ipod warm lovable hugs and kisses macho pats on the back for enabling a constant supply of sound into my earlobes when needed.

Would like to thank the blue guitar for giving me the joy of selfscreaming and finger-paining until tips started peeling.

Would like to NOT thank work for basically sucking all the time i could've used to expand my guitaring skills /finish my untouched unread books / learn how to do websites / earn more money/ meet more invisible people etc etc.

Oh well.

Music. Done.
Asylum. Out.

GOTTA GET GET

So Arthur's Day went down last night @ Sunway Lagoon.

As predicted it was overly crowded, excruciatingly hot, annoyingly cramp, everyone was sweaty, performances were draggy...

...and utterly gile babi awesome when BEP took the stage.

God forbid i was already very very worried that it was going to be another PCD 3 years ago. Which it kinda was. Only difference was the fact tat BlackEyedPeas gave such a good performance i forgot about everything else when they came on.

Considering that this was supposedly an event with so many other artists performing and not a BEP Concert itself, i anticipated them to do maybe 3 songs max give or take.

u know la events like this.
Hype up 1 international artist.
Get us to fork out our precious moneys.
and in the end sure potong stim damn fast finish wan.

Manatau.

BEP performed not 3 or 4 songs...
but a whopping 10 songs weh. (Not including Fergie's and Will.i.am's solo sets.)
Dun praypray.

They brought down their own band, dancers and even stage props.
STAGE PROPS AH!
Who could forget the 2 HUGE inflatable robots standing tall on each side of the stage as BEP performed at Oprah's 24th Season Kickoff.

Unfortunately i never got the chance to execute the dance above which i have been killer rehearsing non stop prior to last night because of the various reasons stated at the beginning of this post. (read line 2 from top)

So they got it started with...err... Lets get it started.
Then went into some of the other songs in the THE E.N.D album.
Rock that Body
. Imma Be. Meet Me Halfway.

They also did Shut Up. Dont Phunk with my Heart.
Pump it. Where is the Love.

In the middle, Fergie came out with her 2 guitarists and did Big Girls Don't Cry.
Which was damn good la i think. She was busy thanking everyone for their support.
Very humble of her. Although i think they probably say it on default everywhere they go.

Then spotlight went to Will.i.Am who did his DJing thing for awhile.

Wasnt too into this cuz he took MJ and retro songs and some other ppl punya songs and tried to create a dance club sorta atmosphere - Which so wasnt working - Cuz it was damn cramp and i was sweating buckets and sticking elbow into this other bitch who was trying to steal my standing zone when it was already so hard to get a good view . How to dance u tell me?!

Ended with BoomBoomPow and I GottaFeeling.

I think Guinness gave them a whole hour to kill.
Which they literally did.

Before that it was the other kelefeh artists like Reshmonu and JoeFlizzow and MCHotDog and ManHand and dunnowhoelsecuzionlywannaseeBEP so i was really starting to feel restless from the draggy performances liao.

that's Taboo in white. In case ur wonderin.

I'm not exactly a big BEP fan (or even a fan to be honest. cuz i don't fancy ALL their songs and i don't own any of their albums. Plus Pump It and Let's Get it Started don't get on my playlist.) But they were so humble and engaging on stage tat i think i have a new respect for them la.

Despite all the fame-founding and Billboard-charttopping (I Gotta Feeling is still No.1 after 3123213 weeks) and Grammy-winning, they still wanna give face perform in these lil events in lil Msia with it's never-ending list of rules and restrictions.

GUINNESS must've pulled out all their guns to get them to give so much face weh.

See what i mean? Power guns.

Thanks Lapster for the free passes and an awesome awesome night.
Lets do it again some time soon. *wink wink*

ANGEL : After the Fall: First Night

Once again doing my fair share of contribution towards the Whedon goldmine offering altar.

Once again proving my undying devotion to the franchise i refuse to let go despite the abrupt series finale and even more absurd storyline the comics have taken the show to.

(left) Angel Vol.1: After the Fall
(right) Angel Vol. 2: After the Fall: First Night.
Hurrah.

So IF everything is going down the way it is, why isn't the Buff gang doing anything about it or giving Angel and crew the helping hand they so desperately need?

Sometimes i just don't get the continuation (or in this case - discontinuation) in timeline / reality these stories carry.

Makes me wanna watch the whole series from season 1 again la.
At least there's more satisfaction there.

---------

MTV Video Music Awards this year was entertainment at its best.

Especially when it involves egos being bruised and blacks being booed.
Ah. i love live drama.

Lady Gaga's performance was bladi epic. Pun intended.
Taylor Swift's jump from platform to train to car was pretty cool.
I'm having doubts if P!nk was actually singing during her trapeze stint.
Beyonce was legs and girates all the way. Hot as usual.
And Janet's lip sync with weird voice was just... weird.

Nothing new there.

MY TOP 10!

So every year-end i post up a syok sendiri top-10 chart with a pukesome list of things i unfortunately couldnt help falling in love with.

Been doing this since secondary school so it's only appropriate to keep up this personal tradition of mine...

This was my faves for 2007.
And this, 2006.

Once again it's all POP songs so all ye mainstream-haters pls bare with me.

Here lies MY TOP 10 FAVOURITE SONGS OF 2008:

over-played songs galore.

I cannot explain Bleeding Love la.
The 1st time i heard it i just dived straight into song obsession.
That was before Msia caught wind of it.
Before it shot up the US Billboard.
Before the radio stations ran the repeat button on it.
Then i got sien of it for awhile.
Then came the So You Think You Can Dance routine.
Then i heard the BoyceAvenue acoustic version.
Then it went into my playlist all over again.

Now everytime i hear the song i can visualise the dance in my head.
Which is why i am STILL listening to the song now...

It's been nominated for 2 Grammys for Record of the Year & Best Female Vocal Performance.
I hope it wins.
For both.

The only thing i dun get is why they released it in 2 versions of the video.
- A US version and a UK version.

the US vid just looks like a low budget one compared to the UK version.

I feel like bleeding now cuz tmrw is a workday after the long Xmas weekend.
Argh.
Sux la.
