We just did another video.

Time was tight and tension was super tiuz (on my side) but i'm just hoping this video justifies the idea and lameness i so want to never lose touch of in myself.

i never wouldve expected so many friends to fork out time for lil ol' us to do this.
But they did and we are indeed thankful and in depth to them now.

Mummy always says its not good to owe.

KICKATOMIC'S DAWN OF THE DRAGON

ARRRRRRRRRRRGH!

i know i havent been updating much so here's a Happy Dragonew Year roar (literally) vid Kickatomic did for crazy's sake. (Please watch and share so more people acknowledge the humble existence of Kickatomic. Your support in making our name known is gratefully appreciated and atweetciated)

SPLURGED ON A DSLR

So after contemplating a DSLR for the longest time, i finally pulled my balls (and limbs and any other part of the body worth anything) together, surveyed the shops in 1U (cuz its near and i dun need to stress about cab fairs and distance and more stress) and gutted out my 4.3k on the CANON EOS 60D. (original price 4.1k + free 16G SD card + 18-135mm lens) i added on an extra hi-speed 16G SD card and swapped the flimsy tripod for a more stable one.

i got it from Foto Shangri-La and the sales person there gave me an impeccable deal.

Well. In my opinion, a good deal la.

Other shops were offering 4.5++ and NO 16G SD card and NO tripod even.
They even said that they weren't willing to swap the uber fugly red CANON bag for a cooler black one since it was free. Pfft.


The dude at FotoShangrila spent a whole friggin hour giving me the 101 of using a DSLR camera right there in the shop when i said i didnt know squat about apertures and iso and shutterspeeds. (Got la abit abit from college but i nicely gave back to lecturer already..heh.)

THAT's what you call good service. #SOLD

The other sales persons in the other rival cam shops just didnt make me feel "important" enough for me to fork out my hard earned mothurreffing 4k lor.

Either felt like they were too lansi. or too lacking in knowledge.

ANYWAY the main reason i have been wanting a camera like this was to experiment with videos.

To say that i am not a photo enthusiast would be a lil harsh but i guess i'm just not riding on the wave of still photography.
YET.
Mainly cuz its just too hard.
And i lazy to learn.

But I was, however, not lazy to put my vid shooting amateur skills to the test.

A Video We Did in 2004

Lo, behold and get ready to witness,
an age old video this way approaches.

T'was the year of 2004,
in the bright festive month of December,
when a group of church-going youths decided to gather.

To concoct a Christmas video was their main objective,
the word of Christ was their definite initiative.

With the overflow of commercialism in the world today,
We knew we had to alot to convey.

So we set out to preach
the true meaning of the season,
and to debunk what had become of this occasion.

Amateurs and first-timers everyone was,
heck we were still in high school (most of whom were peers),

We fondled the cameras.
We stormed the locations.
We brushed aside the humiliation,
of working under strict adult supervision.
(Only because we were under much obligation.)

Drama queens, over-acting scenes,
Androgynous roles thrown in for no means.
We plowed and we had fun,
Until it came down to the actual run.

So forgive the crappy editing,
Ignore the lame ass script,
We were young and chirpy,
and oh so syok sendiri.

Still, it's a memory,
Of things that used to be.
It saddens me to confess that
alot has changed since our debut on the docket.

So here it is!
An old treasure i managed to scavenge
from the forgotten abyss of my dust cluttered sty,
a humble video that, miraculously, did not go too awry.
