I REALLY SHOULD WRITE SOMETHING

i really should write something.

But what else can i conjure that doesnt involve me squinting my eyes and frowning my forehead and squeezing my brain juice in order to produce some excess obligatory funny liner that makes me go "ahhh i've written a nice posts! #win" ?

i think because im constantly drowning myself in thoughts of the what to do's, when to do's and how to do's that when it comes to relaxing (or blogging) im just lazy to exert mental energy. Brain coma. A state of psyche surrender.

So therefore in no particular order. Random opinions.

- LIFE OF PI has to be one of the best books i've read in awhile. (Thanks to the housebunneigh housemate for igniting the "want-to-read" in me) started off rather slow but when u put ur heart to it and be optimistic that there's an ending that is worth the somewhat draggy chapters, you'd be pleasantly wowed.

- FIFTY SHADES OF GREY is NOT one of the books worthy of the aforementioned optimism.

- THE CABIN IN THE WOODS blew my mind. The casualness of the lab character buildups were genius to say the least. Fresh concept for a horror/sci-fi movie too. Now when my spirits are low and my inspiration absent, i remind myself of WWJWD. What Would Joss Whedon Do.

 - PARANORMAN was a pleasantly touching movie. If u dont already notice the walau-so-nice-can-die claynimation.

Also,

I sneaked off (or rather sneaked off and then proudly spammed Instagram like a gungho photographer wanna-be) to BALI for a week's worth of foreign frolicking.
It was nice.
Instagram pics came out great.
As long as Instagram pics came out great, nothing else matters.
Absolutely nothing.

Lets see what else.

Work has been slow-ish. I'm knee deep in writing a new vid for our KickaVlogs.
Cant say that inspiration has been particularly good to me though.
It's been a dry draggy season of sitting down at OldTown and staring stonely at the hazy Restoran Twin Joyous opposite the road beneath the overhead bridge and seeing the Bangla and China workers wait for buses.
Staring and shaking my leg mostly.
U know, when ur nervous as hell and u're stuck in mental blockage and u still know u need to get this shit done but nothing shits out.
Yeah those shakes.

WWJWD mana lu?!

Oh and
Happy (Belated) Raya!

2011 FIRST READ

Wow.

i think i deserve a nice pressure-pointed pat on my lazyass back because i have just read (in a non-skipping-non-browsing-through manner) my 1st book of 2011!

...and i completed this miraculous deed in just 2 bloody days.
Yup. 247 pages in 48 hours. (its a big deal to me hokeh? pls give me face abit)

Oh alert the caretakers, and address the caterers.
Ring the church bells and sound the trumpets of celebration.
For tis marketh the dawn of days that maketh dreams.

Dreams made out of situations where i dun slip off into slumberville after just 3 sentences.
Dreams made out of times where im not so distracted by msn or torrents or work or sex and everything else BUT the book i have in front of me in my hands.
Dreams where i am actually able to focus on the story unfolding in my grasp.

But the irony is..
it was a friggin depressing book.
A true story that made me sigh and frown and wince in cringeworthy spasms as i was flipping through the pages seated on my plastic cheapo room chair.

I Seludup-ed the book from under the nose of the notoriously nonchalant Swen
and she didnt even notice until i started tweeting about it.

see?

It's no bestseller or whitbread winner.
But it's nice enuf for an engaging read.

i couldnt put it down once i started.

It's filled with pedophilic attacks by a monstrously devious Grandfather who couldn't restrain his sadistic fetishes on his own flesh and blood.
I was in agony imagining this 9 year old girl getting constantly raped and tortured by her grandad. Poor lil thing. Her survival story is truly an inspiration. Nah THIS IS THE BOOK.

OH WELL.

So now the big question is...
is THIS the kind of books i can actually read now without falling asleep??.......

HELL YEAH WHY NOT???
KTHXBAI!

DEATH BY LITERATURE

Sy visited the BigBadWolf warehouse sale on Sunday with her Jookey.
Me on Monday with the SwooSwoo.

And at night during our show-and-tell,
SY suddenly dropped dead from too-much-cuntedcheap-books-that-look-too-cute-to-not-buy galore asphyxiation.

I swear I had nothing to do with the devious-looking plastic over her head.

Group pic y'allz.

GRAVE ME

I should have taken friggin long leave during CNY la.

Seriously.
I think i made a mistake being thrifty about my 20 days of leave.
There's no justification for being hardworking when NO ONE is around to notice you being hardworking in the 1st place.
I'm gonna use my leave like water beginning now.
soon.
just wait and see.

Urgh.
Vomit blood everytime i step into office.
That's probably the reason why i need so much time to myself after work. I don't go out cause I need the personal time to recuperate from all the blood puked out during the day. Oh well. Life's hard. No surprise.

Chinese New Year was super slumber.

Is it just me or do these festivals get less and less fun as you grow older.
Cynicism and dullness just replaces all the enthusiasm you once had for these special occasions.

Anyways, big news - I finished a book.
NO.
it's actually bigger than big.
it's HUGE.
An achievement all together.
Took me 2 months.
Half the time i took to finish the draggy book known as American Gods.
And i actually enjoyed this one killer max termamat sangat.
Really really good book.
Thus confirming the fact that my attention span caters only to books that dun use so many novelistic words.

The Graveyard Book.
Cun.
Me like.

Ending was very bittersweet.

And very very perfect for the story.
There's no other nicer way to end it.

Oh and i'm going for Jason Mraz in March.
Heh. Han the Hamster was so semangat that i couldn't help not NOT feeling the flames of fan craze (eventhough i'm not that big a fan myself).

The fella actually went all the way to SungeiWang, endured the pushy crowd and relentlessly pursued the 15% discounted ticket que until he was the LAST person entitled to the promotion. Others behind him curse him so much he sneeze the whole way back.

THAT's what you call determination!

There's hope in life after all.
