LET'S GET KICKASTARTED WITH LIFE!

We just did another video.

Time was tight and tension was super tiuz (on my side) but i'm just hoping this video justifies the idea and lameness i so want to never lose touch of in myself.

i never wouldve expected so many friends to fork out time for lil ol' us to do this.
But they did and we are indeed thankful and in depth to them now.

Die.
Mummy always says its not good to owe.

Lets wipe off that worrisome thought and see some behind the sceens pics instead.

Other than stinting at hitz.fm, Arnold rules on his throne at Pestle and Mortar.
(rules = show face for publicity and let other ppl do the heavy lifting. thats the waydago!)

GRIM film looking mightt cozy for their lil scene.

Jared likes/licks my mohawk.

Hamster Han lookin mighty confident in his shade of makeup and blusher.
i think he does this fairly often. Just saying.

Papi Zak shows his unwavering love to his homies.

with a dark person.

.. and finally a shot that didnt really make it into the vid
Poor Katy.

THE CRUSTACEAN INVASION

It's no secret that i was made to dress up in a rather uncustomary suit recently for a commercial shoot whom an industry friend suggested i "try out".

heads will roll. and so they did.

Considering my very limited TVC experience, I eventually got the role. did the deed. and the completed commercial recently went on air.

And i must say i look particularly awkward to say the least.

Dunno why u all say its funny lor. i didnt laugh. u all laugh so loud for wat?
(must be one of those "when u see urself on camera u're just too selfconsious to find it LOLable" situations. )

Oh well. i still think everyone did an amazing job on set though.
Helpers helped.
Lighters lit.
Shooters shot.
Directors forced us retake each scene again and again and again until our costumes were drenched in our salty bodily residue.

Hear ye hear ye.
And behold thee, the making of an orange seabug.

We managed to wrap by 7pm++.
Which is downright early in my experience.

in this shot, chairs. and TV.
Funstuff.
Sweat like mad.
Good workout.
I swear i felt 10kgs lighter by the end of the day.
(which i have no doubt gained back by now la. sob.)

So there you have it people

i am officially
a local prawnstar.

 Oh baby.

Nah. feast your eyes on the prawnography.

SHOTS FROM SHOOTS

More shots of pain from work hell.

checkout my director-face mode.
donts i look diabolically professional?

Stress.
But fun.

Could not have done it without the very experienced people around coaxing me to pay attention to the minor annoying details that one shouldnt miss-out.
i am nothing la really. Would be an epic fail without these people around me.

The completed promo should be on air by now.
if you actually watch normal free earthling TV la i mean.

btw.
thank you Jeremy.
Hope u had tonz of funz. (despite the waiting and re-taking and makeuping and waking up so damn friggin early and more waiting)
Nah. this is for you.

hehe.

The Merdeka promo i rambled about here is dunzo and completed.
Yeah its on air now and you can see my very unfinished unpolished directorial shots all over national TV.

JUST SHOOT ME

Co-directed a shoot yesterday.
T'was a Merdeka promo campaign that required a hellota props, shitload of on-the-spot improv and precise timing for movements.

fatiguely tiring.

Was supposed to end by 6pm.

Ended at bladi 11.

Argh.

All i can say is, you can never have too much planning for shoots.

I have to admit that i did not have the proper planning for this one due to the fact that shit is shat everywhere and everyone steps on them once in awhile and groans in agony and curses the world when it happens and there's nuthin' yo can do 'boutit really but go home and cry to mummy.

Now i understand how some movies are re-written and re-done and re-written again and again before they get that proper kickstart overdrive.

I was crackin my head trying to piece the 874237432840834 jigsaw puzzle together for weeks before finally settling with something close to my liking.

And even that i wasnt completely satisfied.

Budget wise, bosses were hammering 1 single message into our heads during meetings:

Kiamsapz.

I was also not prepared for the unforeseen circumstances that befell us when a whole memory card's raw footages were tragically deleted by someone from the crew. We were forced to re-shoot a handful of scenes because of this mishap. Bummerz.

talents getting cozy under the sheets.

To add salt, there was another separate crew that was scheduled to built a new set for another shoot at the very same location that same night immediately after our shoot (which was scheduled to end at 6) and we had tonnes more to cover.

therefore, you get yourself the perfect Kodak moment of chaos:
- improper planning.
- cheap-ass budget.
- killertight schedule
- lackness of manpower.
- amateur experience.
- other crews standing around cock eye-ing us with crossed arms impatiently tapping frustfeet on floor for us to wrap up so they can proceed with THEIR set up

picture it yet?

the frantic faces,
the tension in the air,
the zombified crew.
the pullinghair me.

CAN PICTURE OR NOT!??!?!

cheering on our producer to clean faster.
Que you-missed-a-spot joke.

Oh well.
Live and learn.

Hopefully after the cleaning up in post, things will look up.
Keeping fingers crossed.

Work It Baby

Aih.
So much work can die.

Supposed to direct One In A Million Top 12 contestants in a shoot tmrw but at this instant, we don't even know WHO we'll actually be shooting..... results not out yet. -_-
i hate on-the-spot shoots la. We dun get to plan beforehand.
Damn tension.
Newbie like me (yes i still consider myself fresh and easily corruptable cuz i still can't direct nicely) should be given the privilege to plan my board frame by frame and practice my communication skills in front of a mirror before getting thrown into the fire liddat.

Ok fine. So i direct Newbies each month.
That one plan until so nicely already of course no problem la.

Mardeh.

I cannot deny though, I'm actually pretty friggin excited now.
I'll be working with a bunch of people whom i've only observed from afar from last time.
Will be experiencing communication challenges tmrw cause apparently the linguafranca of production shoots is friggin-knnccb-canto. -_-

I've been labled a banana in the office btw.

Doesnt matter if you can speak mandarin.
Doesn't matter if you attended Sekolah Kebangsaan Cina.
Doesnt matter if you joined jiang gu shi (storytelling) and hui chun (calligraphy) competitions and that 90% of your school friends are pure chineses.

Nope.

As long as you sit at a table full of canto-speakers and you're the only one who can't get the LOL jokes, you are ze infamous Banana of ze group.

Sweet.

I rearranged my room yesterday.
Just got bored and felt like releasing some pent up stress.
So i shove, move, tilt, bend, throw.
SY says the room feels bigger now.
Still alot of work to do though.
Gonna get more 20 ringgit shelves when i am done with the shit i'm going through now.

The other day my friend told me that another friend just left her production job and will be going to UK to pluck apples for a living.

Like, walau.
Abit the drastic right?

But i cant help but feel envious of people who have the guts to leave everything behind and pursue a life free of idiotic clients, moody bosses and fake smiles.

I jealous la.
Argh.
I have good thing going here.
Focus focus.
OK need to wake up at 6:30am tmrw.
Sleep.

Ciaos.
